25 thoughts on “Where We’ve Been

  1. Just had the pleasure to experience American Idol performed at another grand event in the Four Seasons in Westlake Village. It was top notch and although we should not really say – yes, there were American Idol celebs in attendance as well as Gordon Ramsey from Hell’s Kitchen and Howie Mandel from America’s Got Talent playing carnival games and schmoozing with execs. Always a pleasure at the Four Seasons.

  2. Hanging with Peter Dills. Not this time, but have worked these Von’s grand openings with Peter. This time was in San Diego for a tremendous two-story Vons celebration as they hosted a charity-benefit wine tasting for Mama’s Kitchen, a nonprofit that prepares and delivers meals to men, women and children affected by AIDS or cancer. Congratulations on a fantastic night!

  3. The other day, we were setting up our fountain outdoors on the patio of the Calamigos Ranch in Malibu. I noticed a gentleman that was recognizable but where did I know him from? After a few questions I realized it was Michael Cole from The Mod Squad. How groovy was that?

  4. Setup a fountain for a Mitzvah at the Sportsmen’s Lodge in Studio City. Nothing too fancy, but our fountain was the entertainment. Balloons everywhere and the little kids were grabbing our skewers and popping the balloons throughout the room. I think I scolded the 5 year old twins of Wendy Wilson. Carnie was there too as well as mom Marilyn Wilson and Mitzvah mother – Mama Cass Elliot’s daughter Owen. Nostalgia at its best.

  5. Served up strawberries and dark chocolate for a great cause. Probably the 4th consecutive year for us participating at the Boys & Girls Club of Ventura Annual Garden Party. It’s not the largest, but it has such terrific appeal. Love to see the kids there too. Thanks for a great event back at the Pierpont.

  6. Sherwood Country Club in Thousand Oaks is one of our favorite venues. Surrounded by the beautiful golf course, this place is posh. Thanks for another great evening.

  7. Elegance at its best in the grand ballroom of the Four Seasons in Westlake Village, our chocolate fountain danced to the music of Walk Like a Man: A Tribute to Frankie Valli and the Four Seasons and Jersey Boys. Those boys can sing! Thank you to the staff at the Four Seasons for your warm hospitality.

  8. Another great event at University Village. The residents were extremely polite and it’s truly sweet to experience the afternoon with tremendous love from so many. Thank you to the staff at University Village for making us feel so warm. Hope you enjoyed the chocolate.

  9. Been to many Mitzvah celebrations and this one was very special. The father of the Bat Mitzvah girl is one of the best dancers I have seen. Thanks Mitch for a great celebration!

  10. One of my favorite venues. Elegance at it’s best and you never know who you’ll see as a guest at one of these parties. Sorry, can’t tell you.

  11. They eat and eat and eat. They drink and drink and drink. And when they’re done, they swarm the chocolate fountain. If that’s not enough – they pounce on midnight selections of Los Angeles iconic foods such as Pink’s Hot Dogs or In-N-Out burgers. 300 – 400 guests having a great time.

  12. Holiday parties are really cool and we’ve been to some terrific ones. We’ve been to private homes with A list celebrities playing songs on the piano, but this was really different. This was the President’s home at Pepperdine University and it was decorated with holiday colors and charm. It was nice to see game show host Wink Martindale walking the house in his bright red holiday blazer.

  13. Corporate holiday parties are fun. Employees let loose for the afternoon and celebrate with alcohol and conversation. The taste of chocolate never tasted so good this afternoon.

  14. Like basketball? Crespi High School held their awards tonight and we were there for the festivities. Lots of fun and hungry high school students. What’s up with this? They were the some of the most patient and courteous young adults we’ve catered.

  15. Okay, this was a not a Bar or Bat Mitzvah. Nope, it was a Grand Mitzvah. Huge is an understatement. The theme was carnival throughout and that was emphasized with a complete carnival outside in the tent. Inside were performers of magic, music and feats of amazement. American Idol at it’s best. Pick one of the performers and they were there singing. You couldn’t help but rub elbows with Howie Mandel, Gordon Ramsey and other A list superstars.

  16. Hung out in the hallways at the famed Charlie Chaplin studios, A&M Records, Jim Henson Studios and now Henson Recording Studios. Many great performers have played these halls (remember ‘We are the World’). If only I was there the day before as Sir Paul McCartney walked in wearing a pair of Levi’s and Converse sneakers hoping to jam a little. No worries, twelve little 13 year kids loved the chocolate fountain.

  17. One of my favorite food and wine events. Always hosted by the Boys and Girls Club of Greater Ventura, this party is intimate and allows friends and colleagues to mingle. Enjoyable for everyone and a terrific fundraising event in Ventura County.

  18. Thank you Sherwood for another fabulous wedding. Never saw so many medical practitioners at one gathering.

  19. Kids love chocolate fountains, but so do our seniors. Another family event for infants to octogenarians and they had a chocolate blast. One of my favorite locations in Ventura County.

  20. Worked the Itza Mitzvah Itza Party show at the Sheraton Agoura Hills on September 29, 2013. Well, actually we really didn’t work. We sort of played all afternoon and hung out with friends in the catering biz. Great seeing some old friends and glad we made new ones too.

  21. Always a fun holiday party at the Crowne Plaza Ventura. Great view of the coastline and the holiday tree in front of the mission. Nice to see 400 employees from our local companies enjoying great food, libations, music and of course – holiday chocolate.

  22. Another great night at Stephen S Wise Temple with Casiano Catering. They treat you like family and make you feel special. Thanks for a warm evening of friendship and conversation. Can’t wait to return soon.

  23. Beautiful home. Beautiful service. Dynamite chocolate fountain. Thanks to everyone at Monrose Catering for another fabulous event.

  24. Invited to celebrate a Bar Mitzvah with Tarte Catering and friends. Thank you to Ruth and Matt for a fabulous evening of delicious delights and entertainment.

  25. Another outdoor Mitzvah at a private home. Is this a trend? Terrific food from Mr. Omelette and El Sancho Loco. Oh, and the chocolate fountain was rather impressive too. Just wish the weather had cooperated.
